The Earth Journalism Network (EJN), as part of its Business and Climate Media Initiative (BCMI), is organizing a five-day virtual media workshop for journalists in Indonesia. The program aims to strengthen reporting on business engagement with climate change, specifically focusing on the crucial transition to clean energy and clean mobility. Subject-matter experts will equip journalists with the knowledge and information needed to report on these important issues, as well as the wider role of the private sector in climate and environmental change.
Program Benefits
- Expert Knowledge: Participants will gain crucial knowledge on clean energy and clean mobility transitions, carbon markets, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) regulations, and how to scrutinize corporate climate claims and greenwashing.
- Certificate of Completion: Journalists who attend all sessions will receive a certificate of completion from EJN.
- Story Grant Eligibility: Participants will also become eligible to apply for a story grant following the workshop, which can fund further reporting on issues covered in the workshop.
- Networking: The workshop offers an opportunity to discuss potential story pathways as Indonesia works toward its climate goals.
Eligibility Criteria
- Profession: The workshop is open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio).
- Organization Type: Journalists from all types of organizations across Indonesia are encouraged to apply.
- Location: Applicants must be based in Indonesia.

- Workshop Dates: The virtual sessions will run from January 22 to 31, 2026, specifically on January 22, 23, 24, 30, and 31, 2026.
- Session Times: Each session is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Jakarta time.
