by | Dec 18, 2025

The Gender Equity/GBV Evidence Accelerator Fellowship is a year-long, part-time cohort program offered by the Center for Global Women’s Health and Gender Equity at Johns Hopkins University. It is designed for practitioners, professionals, and scholars from low- and middle-income countries who are engaged in gender equity and gender-based violence (GBV) work. The fellowship focuses on building skills in evidence generation, analysis, and translation through sponsored coursework and dedicated mentorship.

Program Benefits

  • Mentorship & Coursework: Fellows receive one-on-one mentorship from Johns Hopkins faculty and complete select coursework at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
  • Skill Development: The program is structured to build practical skills in evidence generation, data analysis (e.g., STATA), and translating research into policy and practice.
  • Funded Participation: The scholarship covers all travel costs for in-person convenings, course registration fees, and faculty mentoring. Note that it does not provide a stipend or compensation for the fellow’s time.
  • Networking and Dissemination: Fellows join a professional cohort, participate in in-person gatherings, and disseminate their work through a final webinar.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Geographic Requirement: Applicants must be from and currently living/working in a low- or middle-income country (LMIC).
  • Professional Status: Open to practitioners, PhD students, Postdocs, or Junior Faculty working in the gender/GBV field. Current master’s students are ineligible.
  • Experience: Applicants should have some experience in research or monitoring and evaluation, with exposure to statistical software being a plus.
  • Language: Professional working proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
