The World Bank Internship Program (BIP) offers highly motivated graduate students a chance to improve their skills as well as the experience of working in an international environment. Interns generally find the experience to be rewarding and interesting. The internship provides an opportunity to contribute to the World Bank’s mission of ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity.
Program Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Status: Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (Master’s or PhD) at the time of application and during the internship.
- Returning Student Rule: You must plan to return to school to complete your degree after the internship. (Graduates who have already finished their studies are not eligible).
- Fields of Study: Economics, Finance, Human Development (Public Health, Education, Nutrition), Social Sciences (Anthropology, Sociology), Agriculture, Environment, Private Sector Development, and other related fields.
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, or Chinese is desirable.
