The Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is accepting applications for the 2026 cycle of the Japanese Studies Students program. This scholarship is designed specifically for undergraduate students who are currently majoring in fields related to the Japanese language or Japanese culture. It provides a one-year immersive study experience at a university in Japan.
Program Benefits

- Return Requirement: Applicants must return to their home institution to complete their degree upon finishing the scholarship.
- Exclusions: Students majoring in other fields (Engineering, Economy, Agriculture, etc.) who wish to study in Japan should apply for the JASSO Student Exchange Support Program instead.
