This scholarship is designed specifically for undergraduate students who are currently majoring in fields related to the Japanese language or Japanese culture. It provides a one-year immersive study experience at a university in Japan.

- Exclusions: Students majoring in other fields (Engineering, Economy, Agriculture, etc.) who wish to study in Japan should apply for the JASSO Student Exchange Support Program instead.
