United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Internship 2026

The UNFCCC is seeking an intern to support the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) team. This role is situated at the intersection of policy, education, and youth engagement. The intern will assist in implementing ACE activities, which focus on empowering society to engage in climate action through education, training, and public awareness.

Key Responsibilities

The intern will support the ACE team in several critical areas:

  • Climate Education & Training: Assisting in the development and coordination of educational initiatives.
  • Public Awareness: Supporting campaigns to increase public understanding of climate change.
  • Youth Engagement: specifically supporting activities related to children and youth participation in climate processes.
  • International Cooperation: Facilitating collaboration between nations on ACE-related matters.

Program Details

  • Duration: UN internships typically last between 2 to 6 months.
  • Location: Most UNFCCC internships are based in Bonn, Germany (the UNFCCC secretariat headquarters).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a UN internship, applicants generally must meet strict academic requirements:
