TRUST FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVING (TSL) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT COMPETITION 2026

by | Dec 31, 2025

The Trust for Sustainable Living is challenging students worldwide to share their vision for a better future. Specifically, the 2026 competition asks participants to address the theme: “How can we protect our oceans and marine life?” Consequently, winners will have their voices amplified on a global platform and will be invited to participate in international debates.

Program Overview

This is an essay and debate competition designed for school-aged children. Therefore, it is divided into two distinct age categories: Primary (ages 7-11) and Secondary (ages 11-17). By joining, students not only improve their writing and critical thinking skills but also join a global network of young environmental advocates.

Key Benefits

Top performers receive recognition and unique educational opportunities. Specifically, the benefits include:

  • Global Champion Award: The overall Grand Prize Winner receives a free trip to the TSL International Schools Debates (location TBD).
  • Cash Prizes: Top essayists receive cash medals and certificates of commendation.
  • Teacher Recognition: The “Teacher Champion” award recognizes the educator who submits the most winning entries.
  • Debate Participation: All finalists are invited to represent their countries in the online international debates.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, an applicant must be a student within the specified age ranges. Crucially, entries must be submitted by a “Teacher Champion” (a registered teacher), not by the students directly.

  • Word Limit: Essays must be entitled “My Plan to Protect the Oceans” and be max. 600 words.
