Youth Fund by Paul Hamlyn Foundation

by | Dec 9, 2025

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Youth Fund provides long-term, core funding to organizations in the UK whose primary purpose is working with and for young people aged 14-25 who face disadvantage and systemic inequity. The fund supports organizations that empower young people, amplify their voices, and help them navigate the transition to adulthood. The Foundation aims to build strong, stable organizations and trusts them to deliver impactful work, rather than funding specific, short-term projects.

Financial Benefits

  • Grant Size: Funding ranges up to £150,000 over three years.
  • Core Funding: The grants are for core operational costs (salaries, organization, and delivery costs), providing flexibility and stability.
  • Strategic Investment: The Youth Fund is designed to be a strategic investment in your organization to grow the impact of what you already do.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Focus: Organizations must work with young people aged 14–25.
  • Target Group: The fund focuses on young people who experience systemic inequity and face challenging transitions in their lives.
  • Organization Type: Must be a not-for-profit organization, which can be charities, community organizations, social enterprises, and not-for-profit companies.

  • Asset-Based Approach: Organizations must work in an asset-based way, recognizing and building on young people’s strengths.
  • Anti-Racist Commitment: Organizations must be committed to anti-racism.
  • Partnerships: For work delivered through partnerships, there must be a lead partner who can receive funds and the partnership must already be active.

What the Fund Supports

The Youth Fund supports organizations that drive change so that future generations of young people can thrive by addressing root causes, influencing practice, shaping policy, improving systems, and influencing attitudes or narratives.

What the Fund Does Not Support

The fund does not support newly registered organizations, work that is a statutory responsibility, project-based activity without wider impact, or work focused exclusively on pathways to employment or higher education.
