GCSP Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security 2026

The Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security seeks to reward groundbreaking concepts that offer exceptional promise in addressing peace and security challenges. Initiated under the leadership of Ambassador Thomas Greminger, the prize encourages innovative, forward-thinking solutions with a global scope from a diverse range of individuals and organizations.

Benefits and Recognition

The prize recognizes a total of five submissions, with the following awards:

  • First Place: The winner receives a fully funded two-month incubation program within the GCSP’s Creative Spark in Geneva. This program is valued at 15,000 CHF and must be completed within one year of receiving the award. The winner also receives a prize trophy and a Certificate of Excellence.
  • Second and Third Place: Recipients will be awarded Certificates of Recognition.
  • Honourable Mentions: Two submissions will be recognized with Certificates of Honourable Mention.

Eligibility and Scope

  • Open to All: The competition is open to individuals, groups, and organizations from any country and professional background.
  • Global Impact: Submissions should address challenges with a scope that extends beyond national borders.
  • Fields of Interest: Concepts can come from a wide variety of fields, including but not limited to transformative technologies, pandemics, biothreats, autonomous weapons, climate change, human rights, cybersecurity, education, and disarmament.

Application Process

  • Application Deadline: The deadline for applications is Thursday, March 20, 2026, at 23:59 UTC+1.
  • How to Apply: Applications must be submitted through the official GCSP online application portal.
  • Winner Announcement: The winners will be publicly announced during a dedicated event in May 2026.
