TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program 2026

The TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program is a fully funded scholarship designed to help partner developing countries achieve sustainable development. It provides talented individuals with the opportunity to pursue higher education in Taiwan, offering undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs at 23 designated partner universities.

Program Benefits

This is a fully funded scholarship that covers all major expenses, including:

  • Full Financial Coverage: The scholarship covers full tuition fees, credit fees, and provides an allowance for textbooks.
  • Monthly Stipend: A monthly allowance is provided to cover living expenses: NT$18,000 for undergraduate students, NT$22,000 for Master’s students, and NT$25,000 for Ph.D. candidates.
  • Airfare: A round-trip, economy-class plane ticket for the most direct route to and from Taiwan.
  • Housing: All scholarship recipients must reside in student dormitories, which are provided.
  • Insurance: Comprehensive medical and accident insurance is included for the duration of the program.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of a partner country eligible for the scholarship and must not be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
  • Academic Admission: Must meet the specific admission requirements of the partner university to which they are applying.
  • Other Scholarships: Must not be a current recipient of any other scholarship awarded by the ROC (Taiwan) government.
  • Previous Awards: Applicants who have previously held a TaiwanICDF scholarship, a Taiwan Scholarship, or a MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship are not eligible to re-apply for the same degree level.

Application Process

  • Application Deadline: The general application deadline is March 15, 2026. However, applicants must adhere to the specific deadline set by the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy or Consulate in their home country, which may be earlier.
  • How to Apply: The application is a two-part process. Applicants must apply for the scholarship through their local ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate and also apply for admission directly to their chosen university.
  • Steps:
    1. Complete the online scholarship application through the TaiwanICDF system.
    2. Submit all required documents to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate in your country.
    3. Complete the separate admission application for your chosen university.
