OHCHR Minorities Fellowship Program 2026

The Minorities Fellowship Programme (MFP) is offered by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). It is the most comprehensive training program for human rights defenders belonging to national, ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities. The program takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, and aims to empower fellows to effectively use the UN human rights system to protect and promote the rights of their communities.

Program Benefits

  • Identity: Must belong to a national, ethnic, religious, or linguistic minority group.

  • Language: Fluency in English, Arabic, or Russian (the program is offered in these three language streams).
  • Commitment: Must demonstrate a commitment to training other members of their community upon return.
