The African STARS (Science, Technology, and Research Specialists) Fellowship Programme stands as a critical initiative for clinical research. Supported by the Mastercard Foundation, this program aims to build a robust pipeline of African leaders in clinical research and development. Two Distinct Tracks
The program recognizes that researchers have different needs at different career stages. Therefore, it offers two specialized tracks:
- Advanced & Translational Training (ATT): This track targets experienced researchers. Specifically, it focuses on “translational” science—moving discoveries from the laboratory into clinical practice.
- Young Professional Programme (YPP): This track supports early-career scientists. Here, the focus lies on foundational skills, mentorship, and career development.
