The Swedish Institute will soon open its annual full-ride scholarship application. However, specifically, you cannot apply for this scholarship unless you have already applied to a Swedish university by January 15, 2026. Consequently, this “hidden step” causes thousands of students to miss out on fully funded Master’s education in Sweden.
Program Overview
This is the Swedish government’s premier scholarship for global leaders. Therefore, it covers tuition, living expenses, and insurance for Master’s studies. By joining, you enter the “SI Network for Future Global Leaders,” a powerful professional network that connects you with Swedish industry and innovation.
Key Benefits
The SI Scholarship is a “full ride” in the truest sense. Specifically, the benefits include:
- Full Tuition: Directly paid to the Swedish university.
- Living Expenses: A monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 (approx. €1,050) to cover rent and food.
- Travel Grant: A one-time payment of SEK 15,000 for travel (amount varies by country).
- Insurance: Full health and accident insurance.
- Membership: Access to exclusive trips, workshops, and company visits within Sweden.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, an applicant must be a citizen of one of the 40+ eligible countries (mostly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America). Crucially, you must demonstrate work experience.
- Work Experience: You must have at least 3,000 hours of work experience (approx. 1.5 years full-time).
- Leadership: You must demonstrate leadership experience (from work or civil society).
