Salzburg Global Public Policy New Voices Europe (PPNVE) Program – Cohort 5

by | Jan 19, 2026

The Public Policy New Voices Europe (PPNVE) fellowship, hosted by the prestigious Salzburg Global Seminar, is a year-long program designed to amplify diverse voices in European public policy. It seeks to equip and empower mid-career professionals from communities that are often underrepresented in policy debates, helping them to shape a more inclusive and equitable future for Europe.

Program Overview

This is not a single conference but a comprehensive, year-long journey. Fellows participate in a series of online and in-person convenings, including a flagship residential program at the historic Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria. The curriculum focuses on strengthening leadership capacity, honing communication skills (like op-ed writing and public speaking), and building a powerful, collaborative network.

Key Benefits

  • Fully Funded Participation: The fellowship covers all costs associated with the program, including travel to and from sessions, accommodation, and meals.
  • High-Level Networking: Direct access to the influential Salzburg Global network of senior policymakers, innovators, and philanthropists.
  • Skill Development: Intensive workshops on practical skills such as policy analysis, media engagement, and strategic communication.
  • Mentorship: Guidance from established leaders and experts in the European policy landscape.
  • Lifelong Fellowship: Upon completion, participants join the global network of Salzburg Global Fellows, a unique and supportive community.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Location: Applicants must be based in Europe.
  • Experience: Targeted at mid-career professionals, typically with 5-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Sector: Open to individuals from a wide range of fields, including NGOs, journalism, the arts, law, social entrepreneurship, and business—not just traditional policy roles.
  • “New Voices”: A key criterion is that applicants bring a perspective that is underrepresented in public policy circles due to their background, discipline, or community focus.

Application Process

  • Deadline: January 23, 2026.
  • Submission: Via the Salzburg Global Seminar online application portal.
  • Requirements: A comprehensive application typically includes a CV, a detailed statement of motivation, and letters of recommendation.
