The APHRC is accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of its Internship Program. Specifically, this research-to-policy program helps young African scholars scale their impact through hands-on data and public health training. Consequently, selected interns work directly with senior researchers to deploy evidence-informed decision-making across sub-Saharan Africa.
Program Overview This is an institutional capacity-building and research program. Therefore, it is ideal for recent graduates and master’s students who need field experience to serve the African health and development sector. By joining, you get access to 20 different high-impact research projects and rigorous mentorship.

Eligibility Criteria To qualify, an applicant must be a national of a sub-Saharan African country. Crucially, you must have strong quantitative or qualitative analytical skills.
- Education: Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in the last six months or be pursuing a master’s degree.
- Field: Open to demography, statistics, epidemiology, economics, social sciences, or related disciplines.
- Format: Must be physically available when required for hybrid internship activities in Nairobi, Kenya.
