The World Water Council (WWC) is calling for applications for its Youth Delegate Program for the 2026–2028 cohort. This initiative is designed to empower passionate young leaders by giving them a significant voice in shaping the global water agenda. The program provides a platform for youth to engage in international policy discussions, contribute to sustainable water governance, and ensure their perspectives are integrated into decision-making processes.
A key focus for this cohort will be their active involvement in the preparatory process and proceedings of the 11th World Water Forum, which is the world’s largest water-related event and will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. Delegates will collaborate with the WWC Young Mission on youth-led campaigns, engage with regional youth networks, and contribute to the Council’s overall mission of making water a global political priority.
Financial Benefits
While the Youth Delegate position is a voluntary (unpaid) role, the program is fully funded in terms of participation costs.
- Fully Covered Travel: All travel expenses for official World Water Council events and meetings will be covered for the selected delegates.
- Global Networking: The program offers unparalleled opportunities to connect with high-level policymakers, international experts, and youth advocates from around the world.
- Professional Development: Delegates will gain hands-on experience in global water policy, advocacy, and leadership within an international framework.
